Parent Hack

This projects exists as a web based service which offers parents a greater understanding of their virtual lives of their ‘techno native’ children and indeed the opportunity to intervene and ‘parent’

I wanted to examine the role of parenting in the context of virtual spaces. The service attempts to offer parents the chance to mediate within the virtual worlds their children inhabit. If a child has misbehaved parents can administer punishments within the confines of the game, such as confiscating their child’s characters sword or armour for example. The service strives to invent new systems and build on existing platforms for parents to interact with their children.
